Lt Col Randy Richert is currently the Division Chief of Deployment Tracking for the HQ AFSOC Directorate of Operations. His division tracks and reports the status of all AFSOC forces worldwide on a daily basis. These reports are used by SOCOM, the U.S. Congress, and the National Command Authorities (NCA) to make force application, budgeting, and force protection decisions. 

Lt Col Richert was commissioned on May 13, 1987 through the USAF Officer Training School where he gained first honor graduate status. This was followed by his attendance at the USAF Security Police Academy where he was also an honor graduate. 

His first two duty assignments were to nuclear weapons bases at Grand Forks AFB, ND and RAF Upper Heyford in the UK. While at Grand Forks he competed as team leader of Strategic Air Commandís (SAC) gold medal winning peacekeeper challenge team. Next Lt Col Richert completed an AFIT tour at Sacramento State University in California earning a Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. This was followed by assignment to Volent Scorpion/Phoenix ACE, Little Rock AFB, AR as operations officer, and then Commander. He subsequently led this unitís move up under the Air Mobility Warfare Center at Fort Dix, NJ, and served as initial cadre to both the 421st Training Squadron and the Air Mobility Battle Lab. 

 

During this time he attended both Squadron Officer School (SOS) graduating as a Distinguished Graduate, and then the FBI National Academy. Additionally, he participated in the development of the Phoenix Raven flyaway anti-terrorism team program and became the first officer graduate of the program. His next assignment was to Australia to attend the Royal Australian Air Force Command and Staff College. Upon completion he arrived at Hurlburt Field, FL where he served as the Chief , Command Mobility for HQ AFSOC before assuming his current duties. 

He is married to the former Andrea Hasse of Maple Grove, MN and they have two daughters, Jessica and Shelby.
